RHAA worked with Group 4 Architects on Walnut Creek’s new public library which serves as a gateway to the mature and beautiful downtown Civic Park. Tree-lined pathways arc into the site and combined with raised planters to create lush gathering spaces that bring the park closer to the community. A new “Library Green” was created between the library and the park to host community events and provide places for respite on hot days. The landscape also respects the environment with native plantings near the creek and grassy bioswales to collect and filter the site’s stormwater runoff.
