The HALS (Historic American Landscape Survey) Challenge is an annual competition by the National Park Service. Each year there is a theme and this year’s theme is Commemorating the Great War - at the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. I chose two monuments in Golden Gate Park - the Pershing Monument and the Doughboy Monument, both commemorating World War I.
