Strata at Mission Bay is a mixed-use residential building with a large podium courtyard on the third floor. The landscape design was conceived to make this large open space the social and recreational focus of the complex. The client preferred multiple programs on the podium, leading to the division of the space into smaller spaces, all surrounding the central clubhouse building.  These smaller spaces include the active sun court with chaise lounges, barbecue grill, and a custom water feature, the fitness court, a flexible space for group fitness or contemplation and a raised bocce court with tables and chairs under a large trellis.  These spaces are linked by a walkway connecting the public spaces to each other and to private patios.  A rich and diverse planting palette compliments the buildings and hardscape, creating a lush garden setting for the complex.
