Bakersfield National Cemetery
DESCRIPTION
The master plan for Bakersfield National Cemetery highlights the site features rolling hills, mature oaks and views to the Tehachapi Mountains while memorializing the service of veterans through site features.  RHAA, as a sub-consultant to Huitt-Zollars, prepared a Master Plan and phase one construction documents for the new 500 acre cemetery. Phase One improvements include 3510 columbarium, 4000 crypts, 4713 in-ground cremains, 913 traditional graves,  the entrance gate, administration building, assembly area, columbaria, memorial wall, flag pole, committal shelter, maintenance center, and necessary infrastructure. The landscape follows xeriscape principles, using irrigated landscape only in key areas.
