Union Square Business Improvement District
DESCRIPTION
The Union Square business Improvement District (BID) is a special assessment district established in 2011 by the former Union Square Association, a group of concerned property owners and merchantsto improve the cleanliness, safety and the economic vitality of the Union Square area. RHAA's principal, Manuela King, has been appointed the chairperson of the Beautification and Streetscapes Advisory Committee to the Board, a pro-bono position where she was tasked with helping to identifyand activate projects that enhance the public realm of the District. The firm has proposed and designed a series of design and planning solutions to add vitality to the district. She has assembled agroup of advisors that include design professionals, property owners, merchants and city officials toserve on the committee and to review the firm's proposed ideas for the District.
