Davis Court

Davis Court is a street level courtyard, one block long, located in downtown

San Francisco. The site links two city neighborhoods, the Financial District

and Jackson Square, as well as two public parks. The courtyard is situated

adjacent to the Embarcadero Center at The Gateway, a Mid Century

mixed-use development. Residential lobbies open onto the courtyard

which functions as both a pedestrian and vehicular corridor. RHAA’s design

transforms the space into a conceptual gateway to the historic Jackson

Square District and harmonizes pedestrian and vehicle circulation patterns.

The design provides compelling gathering spaces for both residents and

passersby.
