Hayward Library & Heritage Plaza

RHAA worked with the City of Hayward and Noll + Tam Architects on a new City Library and a renovation of the City’s Central Park. RHAA developed multiple concepts for the renovation of the 5-acre park to increase activation and create a civic open space with a strong connection to the adjacent City Hall. RHAA led community meetings and presentations to generate enthusiasm and consensus on the design direction. Park amenities include a children’s garden, central event lawn and stage, arboretum, historical walk and event plaza. Cultural events, farmer’s markets, art fairs, civic celebrations and everyday park use will make the park the centerpiece of the downtown civic complex.
