La Scuola International School

RHAA is working in collaboration with Perkins + Will / Pfau Long Architecture, ZPZ Partners of Italy, and school staff to develop a new campus for La Scuola in San Francisco’s Mission District.  The project includes the renovation of two historic buildings and the construction of a contemporary new classroom building.  The landscape design includes rooftop learning spaces, outdoor classroom and collaborative spaces, a garden classroom, and play spaces.  Each aspect of the design was developed to support the schools Reggio Emilia pedagogy and its rigorous IB Curriculum framework.  La Scuola is the first International Baccalaureate (IB) K-8 World School in San Francisco and the first Reggio Emilia – IB - Italian Immersion school in the world.
