Mill Valley Lumber Yard

 RHAA developed conceptual design ideas and provided construction support for the mixed-use redevelopment of the historic mill and lumber yard in Mill Valley. The project features repurposed lumber racks, heated benches, playful site-inspired lumber elements, and café and lounge seating. This design-build project was owner-built.

The historic 1892 lumber property, with 10 renovated buildings organized in a village-like setting, has become a notable Marin destination. The bakery, restaurant, and 14 retail spaces create an inviting place for people to gather, shop, and explore. Located at the entrance to downtown Mill Valley, it serves as a community gathering spot with comfortable seating, multiple fire pits, hidden gardens, and cornhole areas. It is well used and well loved by the community.
