Oak Hill Affordable Housing

Nestled on a scenic 8.5-acre stretch of underutilized state-owned land in unincorporated San Quentin, Oak Hill Apartments will transform a forgotten bayfront site into a vibrant, inclusive residential community. Overlooking panoramic views of the Bay and rolling hills, this thoughtfully designed development will bring much-needed affordable housing to the region while celebrating the natural beauty of the landscape.

Oak Hill will comprise two distinct, yet connected neighborhoods. Eden Housing will develop 115 apartments designed for lower-income families, while Education Housing Partners (EHP) will build 135 homes specifically for income-eligible teachers, school staff, and county employees, supporting those who shape the region’s future.

The landscape architecture creates a powerful sense of place, rooted in community, wellness, and ecological stewardship. Gently terraced along the natural contours of the site, the design maximizes water views and hillside vistas, ensuring residents connect to the land and the stunning coastal setting. At its heart, Oak Hill is a place to gather, play, and unwind. Outdoor courtyards and shared green spaces will offer shaded picnic areas, barbecue stations, playgrounds, dog parks, and open fields for recreation and community events.

Sustainability is central to the vision. The landscape will feature climate-appropriate, drought-tolerant planting palettes, integrated stormwater management, and pedestrian-friendly pathways that encourage walkability and connection. Durable, high-quality materials and finishes ensure a lasting sense of pride and quality for all residents.

Oak Hill Apartments represents more than housing, it’s a model for equitable, resilient, and beautiful community design, where people and nature thrive side by side.
